Last week, I was running errands and as usual, was changing radio stations (because I am too cheap to get any type of MP3 player and I use my BB to stalk my twitter friends and on occasions, I actually answer my phone when it rings) when Coldplay’s “Clocks” came on. I stopped switching channels and started listening to it. For a very brief but unnerving moment, I was transported elsewhere. I was actually driving outside of this rural town that I go home to everyday. I literally felt as if I was in a very urban area quite like where I was born, raised, educated and felt very at ease with no matter what.
I felt extremely calm and deliriously happy as I drove down the country roads.
I have experienced instances where certain songs and music transporting me to the past – be it pleasant memories or otherwise. I was never transported out of my current locale into someplace else and certainly not as vividly.
The air smelled different, the noises were not the same as my current locale and in general, I felt as if I was in an out of body experience. I am not quite sure what to make of it. Rest assured, though, that I relished it with every fibre of my being.
I still wonder WHY Coldplay’s “Clocks” as I was never a huge fan of the group or the song. I like them enough but certainly never obsessed with it. I don’t even own a Coldplay album.
SuriaMentari notes to self: perhaps it was a message from somewhere…
Wow, you gotta love the power of music.
